Going to Las Vegas? Now through mid- July at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, don't miss our Modern Master Zak Ostrowski's thought provoking art installation/exhibit/project: Morphological Alchemy. We're not sure what to call it because it almost borders on performance art as well.

It is part of the hotel's fantastic P3 Studio Artist-in-Residence program in partnership with the Art Production Fund. Not only does it feature Zak's sleek and sexy Pantera Bench exclusively for DESIGNLUSH, which was very well received at its ICFF launch last month, but the exhibit in general sounds very cool according to the press release:

"While working in P3 Studio, Zak will explore the relationships between natural and man-made materials, playing with old world ideas and methods of alchemy while placing an emphasis on morphological elements of unique wood pieces and found objects. These varied but cohesive materials combine, taking an object thought to no longer have value and making it the opposite - where the antiquated isn't seen as a detriment, but instead as something special."

The exhibit will showcase varying large slabs, exotic wood pieces and discarded objects throughout the space that show the natural beauty of their raw form. In contrast, some of these pieces will be transformed through methods of morphological alchemy, such as applied paint, hand carved textural manipulation, bronze and more. As the objects will be painted and carved daily, there will be a constant change within the gallery space, showcasing the experimental process of the exhibit in varied methods. So you could stop by several times and get a slightly different expericence each time. Please let us know if you do!
